The trail is primarily used for hiking, mountain biking & walking and is accessible year-round. This specific trail is really a nice biking route through the woods and you'll be treated to a tower climb about 1/3 of your way along your loop trip. There are plenty of signs to help you along the way. Try to stay on the mountain biking loop which is the best one for bikers.
Well marked, rocky, some flats, loved it!
Hard to find skyline trail in some areas
Very accessible though
Good trail hiking with enough variety for different levels of experience.
Followed the white skyline trail, which is about a 7 mile loop. Was well directed, there were white signs everywhere (just make sure you are looking for them or else you may get diverted to another trail). Overall, was a nice hike, but there are no mile markers so you are not sure how far you have gone at any time. Also kinda rocky, so make sure to have some good, sturdy shoes on!
Excellent trails here! Great for trail running and we brought our dog, several spots for her to swim, shaded trails, great scenery. We were there on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded! Drove by a few parking lots all with a spot or two available, we parked as close to the lakes as we could get. Great times!
Nice network of trails, somewhat challenging due to the occasional uphills and the distance (~7mi)
Very fun trail. Lots of shades up and down hills.
Amazing, weather was perfect, trail was great. Definitely would do it again!
A good starting point for moderate hikes. Almost 7 miles of hiking.
Nice trail run or hike. no major hills. Trails are well marked and great view of city from Wright's Tower.
It was a good hike considering its inner city
It was marked well till about 3/4 of the way then we were completely lost. There needs to be more signs showing where the parking lots are and how many miles. It's easy to get turned around and lost for hours.
Followed the White trail. Thought is was going to be 6 miles ended up being 10! The Skyline was very nice. A few trails were not marked clear so had to turn around a couple of times. Some light climbing nothing to strenuous. If you want a shorter hike take one of the other trails!! Went on a Saturday so there were people around. In the beginning of the trails tons of dogs off leash. Apparently there is an off leash section.
Nice trail, easy to hike, some hills. Tough to recommend for trail running due to some rocky spots. Relatively quiet, many dogs and friendly owners. Nice place to get some quick miles in.
I'm a trail runner and this is a difficult trail to run on. There are hills after hills during the 7 mile loop. Sometimes I got lost when I forgot to follow the white sign.
For hikers it's easy there are a couple of hill tops with overview of forest Ang Boston skyline. Btw the picture on the top is not from this trail. There are hills but no big mountains!
The trail was beautiful! It was a moderate hike with a slight but not too severe incline. Great Saturday morning hike with good friends.Tons of dogs on the trail which for me is an added bonus :)
Nice easy trail if you don't have the time to get out of and away from the city.
