The glen is beautiful if it has been raining. Early summer or mid fall is your best bet. Trail is quite short and easy, with no true views-but a nice walk in the woods nevertheless.
The directions in this app are incorrect: the trailhead is visible from the road on Lenox Branch Road near the border of Richmond and West Stockbridge. You can park in the pull-off on the side of the road, by the Stevens Glen sign. There are maps available at the trailhead. You can go either left or right to start the loop- if you go left, you will be descending immediately. If you go right, you will spend the end of the hike climbing uphill for a long time. There were a lot of lovely views of water features, with a number of sweet benches and little footbridges. One footbridge was flooded and had, in fact, become a waterfall feature due to erosion, but it is possible to cross it if you don't mind getting your feet wet. The loop's spur is marked with a sign that points to the Glen, and it is uphill most of the way, but totally worth it. Take the metal stairs to the overlook platform to see the tall, narrow falls in the crevice of the rocks. You'll have to double back on the spur to return to the loop. An impressive trail with great rewards, especially considering its short length and well-maintained trail (in all but the one aforementioned area). It is well marked and appropriate for anyone in good health, wearing hiking shoes or sandals. It certainly got my heart pumping in the uphill areas! Bugs were obnoxious, so take precautions! I almost didn't write this review because I don't want the trail to become too well known. My track looks totally wonky because I didn't have great internet service on my phone in that area, so the GPS would become weak or the app would crash.
interesting place..just too short and easy..
The road led to a driveway. Couldn't find path
A short hike through thick forest, deep gorges and awesome water features/ bridges.
