Gentle terrain and easy hike suitable for the whole family The Kingsley trail is an easy yet very enjoyable trail which will take you the Kingsley school house. The trail is hard packed gravel with no substansial elevation changes. This would be suitable for the whole family. It is approximatelt .6 miles each way. The trail ends near the school house which has a small picnic area and very cool swinging bridge over the nearby creek. From here you could continue your journey on one of several other trails that intersect this area. Built in 1893 in an area known locally as "Froggy Hollow", the Kingsley school house served the community until it closed in 1935, when the great depression forced families to leave the area to look for work. Of the late 19th century one room school houses still existing in Montgomery County, the Kingsley Schoolhouse is one of the few that remains in an entirely unaltered state.
Pretty trail, especially the grassy meadow part way down the trail. A nice spring runs from beneath a very large but nearly dead tree further on down the trail.
Be prepared for lots of mud during wet seasons and flies in the summer due to horses using the trail
