Historic canal towpath. (4 miles) Little Pool was a natural water basin used by the canal to turn and park barges. The only drawback to this location now is its proximity to Route 70, the traffic of which can be clearly heard across the pond. The noise might be reason to reconsider camping at Little Pool (N39 41.080 W78 6.806). Snapping turtles will haul themselves out of the pool to cross the trail so keep an eye out.
