The trail begins across from the Beech Mountain lot. It is a smooth stone dust road up to the Beech Cliffs. Easy moderate ascent up to a cliff top loop with beautiful views of Echo Lake and East to the bay. The cliff ridges are exposed and beautiful. Loop around and go down the stairs. This hike is short, easy and accessible.
We extended the hike by turning left on the way back down the Canada Cliff Trail towards Echo Lake. You could go down to the lake for a swim if you want. We turned right near the bottom to connect with the Valley Trail right to go back to the Beech Mountain lot.
This made it a much longer but better hike.
We also did Beech Mountain in the morning to the fire tower. Choose the .7 mi trail on right to go up for a moderate hike up with great ledge views. Take the .4 mi trail down for a steeper descent.
Enjoy! Do the Beech Mountain then the Cliff after!
