Beautiful trek through quiet woods once you get to the woods. The weeds around the foot path before the woods were challenging. Trial was easy to follow steep in some places. Water was low and river was rocky but Riley my four legged companion had a great time.
Nice little hike! Peaceful and quiet. About the first 20% of the hike is through a beautiful field of wild flowers and long grass (the trail is mowed and easily recognized). The balance is on a well marked trail (teardrop shaped) that winds through the woods, along a riverbed, and up & down a few slight elevation changes. If you really take it slow, you'll be there 90 minutes.
As most of Maine, the ticks were terrible in May. In early July though ... not one! Only a couple mosquitos or other annoyances.
Perfect for kids, too!
