Vastwood Park Loop Trail is a 1.4 mile loop trail located near Hawesville, Kentucky and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and mountain biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Hike around the lake, suspension bridge, paved walkway, camping area Vastwood Park is a 340 acre park with a 19 acre lake as its centerpiece. This loop trail takes you around the entire lake. The trail is paved, and offers very gentle, rolling terrain. There is a suspension bridge over part of the lake, built for foot traffic only. The trail will take you past a swimming area, beachhouse and the campsite (12 sites with electric and water). There is a graveled spur trail that leads you up a hill, which offers a very lovely view of the park and of the surrounding forested terrain. The spur trail is the only significant elevation gain of the hike.
