Fort Larned walking trail is a self guided tour of a historic calvary fort along the Sante Fe trail. It features the restored fort and visitor center.
My son and I did this walk in early October 2015. The weather was great. The walking trail was in great shape, and goes around the post's existing buildings. Great view of the fields.
The site and the walk itself are well worth the time invested.
The historic fort is a a great spot to learn a little more about our history. The site is very well presented. Kids will enjoy.
