Prarie Path Trail is a 1.6 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Marshalltown, Iowa that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
This hike incorporates the best of Iowa, Open prarie and Hard Woods Trails This hike starts out on a paved trail through Approximately .5 mi of pristine Iowa Prarie, with a steel bridge crossing the Lion Creek. This portion of the hike is fully wheel chair accessable, with remote, small intimate picknic areas. This will bring you to Morris Park and its only access point. From here the trail is narrow and winds thorugh some interesting Hard Woods following the stream bed. About .3 mi into this park a Geocache is located if your interested in stopping. Otherwise the trail continues on for approximately .5 mi. more.
