Sinkholes, caves, creeks and falls This is a pleasent trail in McCormick's Creek State Park. It winds past sinkholes and caves. There are a few shallow creek crossings that might get your feet wet in spring of summer. Benches along the way provide places to rest or soak in the senery.
Easy to moderate 2 mile hike on wide trail. Goes through the nature preserve past sink holes to Wolf Cave which is a small cave that can be crawled through. The track then continues through the preserve and crosses creek several times and has well graded hills. Dogs would be welcome. Not handicap accessible.
Nice trail. We hiked after night and morning rain so be prepared to get feet wet while crossing creek several times. Very nice scenery.
I have hiked this trail a few times with my family. The cave was open the last time we went and my teenagers made it through . The backside of the trail has a small hill you will need to climb. Lots of places to take a family picture. If you enjoy a fairly easy hike, seeing other people on a wide trail, this a a great trail.
Although the title doesn't say it, I believe this is the Wolf Cave trail. This trail is mostly downhill to the cave and the twin bridges and then uphill on the way out. We did this one with our 3 yo last summer and she did fine but need a nap afterwards. The cave is about 1/2 way and is a nice spot to give the kids a break and a snack. The cave was off limits last year due to a fungus, White-nose bat syndrome.
