In Hebrew, Tel means high and Hy means life, and the names, individually or together, are appropriate. From a bluff high above, visitors have a splendid view of the winding Wabash River. There is life along the river and on the land above beech and maple trees, sycamores and willows, and a variety of birds and wildflowers, including wood ducks on the river; scarlet tanagers and wood thrushes in the trees; and wild ginger, celandine poppy and rue anemone blooming in season on the ground.

This trail is very short and there is a spot that is completely blocked by trees, which incidentally made the hike way better. A couple more miles of trail would make this preserve way better

There were many downed trees (large sycamores) that covered the trails. However, it made for a more rugged hike.

there is a lot of down trees which made it difficult to get through some of the trail but made for some excitement

It is probably fine as long as you don't take the right fork, which goes steeply down hill and then you hit innumerable fallen trees and brush across the path, basically blocking the trail.

We went around three different blocks by climbing up around the ridge and one by just climbing through it, before we hit another huge windfall and decided to call it a day. If you come prepared it would probably be fun, if you come expecting a trail, take the left fork.

Nice set of looped trails. We went to see eagles, and while we couldn't see the nest through the trees, we did see a pair of bald eagles flying over the woods.

Storms must have hit this area pretty hard- river is high, trees are down on the trails. Bug spray is also a must. Pretty boggy in areas. Be prepared to get muddy but see a nice bit of woods. I would rate this trail physically harder than moderate. Mud didn't help though.
