Local park near me when I went to college. There are lots of streams running off that brought a trickling effect during my morning walk. Plenty of tree coverage with some educational signs about the Indian mounds and early history.
When I was in my final semester of college, I would come here 2-3 days a week. Very scenic for Central Indiana, with plenty of wildlife to see.
Short, entertaining, and easy or moderate trails available. Multiple access points to beautiful river!
Great local park and river access!
Short and Fun with Multiple levels of difficulty
Easy hike, beautiful though. Worth the time investment just for the scenery.
Mounds State Park is great for easy to moderate hiking. We did the outer loop with the dogs today. The trails weren't too bad even in the snow. The Mounds are really cool, the history makes the hiking that much better.
Easy loop trails, not well marked at all. Lots of stairs. Interesting mounds and historical signs for information.
An easy hike through a cool forest, occasionally uphill & stairs. The trails often intersect with eachother and are not clearly marked; however the trails are short, I was able to walk the whole park within three hours. The mounds are interesting to view and there are informational plaques next to each one. I would recommend for anyone wanting some history and hiking.
Easy walking trails but deep in history, white river was low when we kayaked it in Aug 2011.
Great park great trails good scenery
Not as boring as thought. A nice walk through old forest and along White River. Also an interesting grouping of earthen mounds dating back 2000+ years. Refreshing
This trail is short and boring for the experienced hiker. Every hill is flanked by wooden stairs and the views of the creek are blocked by weeds. The mound itself is interesting but not much else to look at here.
