Waukegan Savanna Forest Preserve is a 4 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Wadsworth, Illinois that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and birding and is accessible from May until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

In the warmer months, and when winter conditions are not good for dog sledding, hikers also can enjoy the mowed trails, but must yield the right of way to dog teams using the warm-weather wheeled training carts Grass mowed paths. No benches. Garbage can at trailhead.
