More than 116 species of birds appear here, including a resident population of waterfowl and herons. Pleasantly surprised by how many different species I saw on my first trip here today. Not sure why this trail is rated as moderated. It's a flat gravel trail that is an easy walk. So if you are looking for more of a hike I would skip this location. Lovely little place and I will be excited to see how the Prairie developes with more restoration.
broad trail. well maintained. prairie scenery. Saturday morning only a few people. plenty of cut offs if you don't want the outer loop. might be more scenic in middle of park than outer.
Easy, but nice trail through prairie land, wetlands, and forest. So many species of birds in this area. Trails can be a little muddy in areas, especially after rain.
It's nice, little trail...
