Bryan Memorial Park Nature Trail is a 4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Salem, Illinois that features a lake. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
A 4 mile trail around the Salem Reservoir that is open to hikers and cyclists. Features views of the Salem Reservoir, local flora and fauna, and a 19th century cemetery. The Bryan Nature Trail is located at the north end of the Bryan Memorial Park. The Trail encompasses the City reservoir and surrounding forested land. It is open to hiking and bicycling for those wishing to enjoy the beauty of this Natural area. Three access points (east, south, and west) allow hikers, bikers, and walkers to travel the two mile (one way) trail. A 1.75 mile interpretive trail is located at the south access.
An easy trail for walking; no major hills. Nice scenery and clearly marked trail. Long enough that you can still make it worthwhile to go.
Nice trail that features lots of plants and wildlife, views of the reservoir, a creek, and a nineteenth century cemetery. There are several routes to choose from, so you can make it a long or short hike. Bicycles and dogs are allowed.
