Belmont Prairie Trail is a 1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Downers Grove, Illinois that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
A small natural area in a suburb woefully lacking nature. An out and back with several loops. Trails are composed of cement blocks, mown grass, and a short section of single track.
The preserve is wholly bounded by streets and is located in a residential area. That being said, it is a quality area and we come year-round to see the changes in plants and views. We've seen deer, coyotes, rabbits, raptors, herons, and smelled skunk, so there is wildlife here. This is a great place to see wildflowers and during the summer the grasses grow over head high, which gives a totally different feeling.
