dogs on leash
Two main trails with side trails and shortcuts. One trail takes you around the lake and the other through and around the bottom marsh area.
Beautiful well-marked trail!
Good easy trail.
Nice, mostly shady trail, through the woods around the lake.
There is another half to the trail that takes you up through tent camping and trailer camping areas and winds down through wilderness areas. Lots of creeks to go over and tracks to see. Great for teaching kids coyote, raccoon and deer tracks. Total distance just over 3 miles. Will upload map next time.
Will be back. Close to home and very pretty! Lots of ticks on the dogs though!!!
Beaver damn is about 30 minutes from my where I live so I go there often to kayak and trout fish. They stock the lake with trout in the fall but have also caught bass and catfish as well. There is a hiking trail around the lake but it is not very long. Only takes about 20-30 minutes to walk. Overall great place near the great town of carlinville
I frequently take my kayak out to this lake in the summer to either paddle around or fish for catfish, bass, and bluegill. In the fall they release the trout into the lake which is always a great attraction. The hiking trail that goes around the lake is nice
very nice easy trail.
A very nice trail. Easy to walk.
Watch out for snakes!!
Easy, quiet hike.
Very nice park located not too far from St. Louis in Central Illinois. Trails and facilities are very well maintained.
