Warm River Rail-Trail is a 31 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near St Anthony, ID that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from March until October.
Our family camps at Warm River campground every year. Most beautiful place ever! I have never done the full loop but we mainly just start at the campground and hike (walk) to the railroad tunnel. If you start at the parking lot of the campground it's about 3 miles up and 3 miles down. Beautiful scenery and great easy hike for kids!
Took the whole family for a bike ride on this trail. Started at Bear Gulch and went up the canyon. A few others on the trail today, but not bad for a Memorial Day. Once you get 2-3 miles up the canyon, we started seeing a lot of 4 wheelers, Razors, and dirt bikes.
Really it's a great trail with some great views of the river below.
Nice easy hike, great scenery saw others on trail but wasn't crowded.
We biked this trail for our 5 year anniversary get away and it was awesome, we went in about 8 ish miles and then doubled back to our truck pared at the trail head, it was beautiful and very dense forest :-)
Good trail but part of it is open to ATV's. Should say it is near Ashton, Idaho which is 10 miles away vs St. Anthony which is 26 miles away.
Great trail but don't go after a hard rain. The path was very soft (like quicksand in some parts) and flooded at the bottom of hills. Also there are two trail heads in the same area - 150 and 001. 150 is this featured trail but its not a complete loop. So watch the signs. 001 is the old railroad lines that were converted to a bike trail. We did the first half on 150 and then doubled back to the start on 001; which was about a 12 mile route. Great scenery- bring bear spray!!
Did a portion of this trail in the winter on cross country skis with a bunch of boy scouts. Started at Bear Gulch (where the road ends in the winter) and skied into the old rangers cabin at the head waters of the Warm River (old fish hatchery). About 10 miles round trip. The cabin can be rented through the forest service.
Great trail that runs on the train route. Beautiful scenery and views of Warm River. Good fishing.
