Tubbs Hill is a 2.4 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Coeur d'Alene, ID that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from June until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
This trail used to be my running loop when I lived closer to it. There is a good variety of hills and flat spots. There is also a variety of different trails all having a different difficulty. This part of the trail really appealed to me to help keep me from getting bored.
However, there are a lot of people. I attempted going around 12 and my run was constantly getting interrupted because of the amount of people. Going in the late afternoon so you finish just before dark, I found was the best time to avoid the masses.
This trail is perfect for all levels of fitness. It provides spectacular views of the lake and there are even a few little beaches along the way to visit.
Tubb's Hill is a great place to grab a quick hike if you are in the downtown area of Coeur d'Alene. It is easily accessed from numerous parking areas in the vicinity. The trail is well-defined and maintained. it is a great place to hike in order to see Lake Coeur d'Alene. It can get a bit slippery in the winter, when the snow gets packed into ice by hikers. Aside from that, the trail is a very civilized one. I have hiked it with my wife on numerous occasions, while still dressed for dinner in the city. It is almost like a rugged city park.
Great views of the lake. Easily done in walking shoes.
Great views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Crowded.
This is a really nice trail my 74 year old mother went with us and she loves it. the views are so lovely and the trail is nice and wide to accommodate passing other hikers. You can get to the water easily. I can't wait to do this one again
great hike with kids.
Great views and just enough of a climb for some fat burning. I wouldn't want to run this trail with all the rocky edges but seems many do. it's easy enough and about an hour hike with some stops for pictures.
Enjoyed this hike a lot! It's very easy wth gorgeous views. Enjoyable for all age groups. There are several places along the hike to jump off rocks into the water or simply walk into the water.
Beautiful family hike! All the kids liked the hike. Ages 8 - 15. Mom and dad did as well! Very beautiful scenery for a prairie boy!
Great, short and touristic hike. I do it probably every two weeks. Wonderful views all the way around. Always full of people, but very nice if you have an hour to kill in downtown CDA.
Easy and scenic. Lots of people around, though. Would be nicer in a more remote location.
Sure it's easy but there are plenty of trails off the upper trail that you can take that are harder. If you are looking for a beautiful hike close to the city that the whole family can enjoy. This is perfect.
Fun, beautiful, easy hike.i
Conveniently close to downtown CDA, heavy usage, crowded.
This trail system is adjacent to the city park of Coeur D Alene, it is essentially an extension of the city park. If you are in downtown CDA, you can reach these trails on foot in five minutes. That's the appeal, right by downtown.
Heavily used by walkers, runners, dog walkers, and swimmers. It has a few areas to swim by jumping off rocks and is popular among locals. There are also two small sandy beaches on the southwest side.
The main trail is well worn and wide. It is fairly obvious which trail is the main one. But many small side trails have been established by foot traffic with no signage.
The scenic views are along the waterline on the southern half of the hill. The peak is unimpressive and no view to speak of.
In the northeastern park there is a small suspension bridge, and two fenced water reservoirs.
Overall this is an easy and pleasant walk/hike if you are near downtown.
It was nice but due to popularity there are many branches that lead to nowhere.
Beautiful and awesome
very easy.. pretty views of the lake. lots of places to stop and swim or put up a hammock
Beautiful but fairly busy
