I took a wrong turn at the bottom and got a little lost, I couldn't believe I lost my bearing like a mile away from a subdivision. then it rained hard. fell twice while lost on slick rocks, sprained wrist. by the time I found the falls, I wasn't that impressed. but I had already been in the creek plenty and drenched.
the fact that several people abandoned their blown out sandals and there is a sign at the start asking people to not leave their blown out shoes there says something about the difficulty of the trail.
there's two threads in the reviews...if it's been dry, the trail is not difficult, but the pool might be low or dry. if it's good swimming then the trail is a slippery muddy mess.
all in all a perfectly good adventure.
great trail and streight to the buisiness getting to the Falls. Lots of good viewa along the way and beautifull woods to the falls.
Great trail! It was quite rainy today so the trail was muddy and slick, but getting dirty was all worth it for the waterfall. My husband and I went swimming and jumped into the pool via the rope swings. Definitely will do this hike again.
It was my first time hiking in Hawaii. Moderate is right. But it was s great hike. Highly recommended!!
Not so much water in the falls at this season, but a so good hiking :)
Beautiful area, but be careful, it gets pretty muddy and steep in places. The water fall was a bit slow the day we went but was still beautiful and so refreshing.
Great hike. Did it with wife, friend, and three kids on our backs. Was usual muddiness you get in Hawaii valley hikes.
great hike but very muddy
trail is in horrible shape, but the water fall and pool were nice.
This a great hike! Beautiful waterfall at the end of the hike!!
fun fun fun!
fun and challenging! totally worth the trek!
Great hike and not as difficult as people make it seem. The waterfall is pretty sweet and has some rope swings and rocks you can jump from, maybe 15 feet high, where the rope with all the knots hits the water is about 12 feet deep. Must do this hike with family who visit.
