Kaanapali Trail is a 4.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Lahaina, HI that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round.
It is beautiful. Easy to walk on the trail or along the beach. The only problem is all the people. It is crowded most of the day, but very crowded at sunset. If you like to walk shoulder to shoulder with people it great. You can also practice evasive maneuvers as you work your way around all the people that stop in front of you to listen to time share sales people.
For a social trial go in afternoon evening. If you want to have a more peaceful walk get on the trail early.
Great easy walk. With plenty excitement when 3 whales went by. They seemed to swim very slowly for photo opportunity. Plenty places to get on and off the trail. Perfect for families with little ones.
Resort walking path along the beach. Absolutely beautiful and very easy. Lots of joggers and runners in the early morning. We start out from the Westin Villas at the north end of Kaanapali and ended our walk at the Hyatt. Grab breakfast there and head back. It is not a straight path when you reach the Sheraton. Follow the detour path or just cut through the hotel.
Resort walking path that leads to Black Rock. There are several hotels and shopping areas on this path that make it great for an evening stroll. The views are incredible and the family friendliness of this area is amazing. Black Rock is great for kids snorkeling and adult cliff diving. Writing this makes me want to move to Maui.
