Kipu Falls [CLOSED] is a 1 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Lihue, Hawaii that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round.
This trail is CLOSED - there were several deaths and many injuries. It is now fenced off by the land owner.
Closed to public. Too many injuries and lawsuits to land owner. Bummer. Should remove off the app.
It closed. Was an amazing spot but no more.
This is CLOSED!!!!! I looked it up online and it says that more than 5 people have died so they fenced it off. You have to go on a tour. Lol. So much for 20 minute drive to nothing
This trail has been closed, it was only accessible through a farmers private property. There was some lawsuits from people getting injured and killed on jumping from the falls, so theres a big fence and no where to park now. More info available with a quick google search. We drove down to try to find it, theres no way to get there whatsoever. Bummer.
This is probably one of, if not the coolest place on Kauai. The "hike" is very simple. Find the trail head and walk the very short distance to the falls. Do to the location of parking, I don't recommend leaving any belongings visible in your car. There are many break-ins. This is very much a locals spot. You can jump off the waterfall into the giant (very deep) pool of water below. The falls are about 25 feet tall, with a rope swing at the other end about 35 feet off the water.
