Iao Needle Trail is a 0.4 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Wailuku, HI that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

There are multiple hikes in the Ioa Valley Park - my recommendation would be to follow the concrete path up past the bridge and you will soon come to a sign that says "stay on trail" this is where you can hop the iron fence and continue on a well worn / hiked trail up the mountain ridge. Great views
trail closed.... :(
Trail is Closed - due to mud slides.
Not really a hiking trail - a nice walk. A true tourist destination.
Easy short hike, beautiful view
Definitely go past the railing at the end, but wear real shoes (not flip flops.)
Fantastic hike! ... if you take the "secret trail". has to be some of the best scenery I've seen!
Continued hiking on dirt path beyond view of needle. Great views
One of my favorite places anywhere. There's some great trails and swimming here that are unmarked and some fun..I suppose you'd call it scrambling if you get far back in the valley and cross the stream. Mostly locals when you get in the back. BE nice and respectful to everyone and everything there and you'll be fine. Very beautiful. It always reminded me of Jurassic Park.
Beautiful - not really a hike but s do not miss if you're on this side of Maui. Bring swim suit!
beautiful view. yet i would call it more of a wall then a hike :)
Beautiful, tropical and lush. Main setback is the parking situation.
Quick simple tourist trail that makes you wonder where the dinosaurs are. Bring something to swim in because you will want to splash around in pools in the Iao Stream.
