Hana Forest Trail is a 2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Hana, HI that features a lake and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
About 6 mile marker on the Hana highway. Big bamboo forest. Waterfalls. Very tricky hike. Hike up a ladder after waterfall two to get to waterfall three. Must swim about 150 yards to get to waterfall three. Wear sandles or tevas. You will get wet and muddy.
This is a beautifoul trail, on the Road to Hana marker 6.7 ( between marker 6 and 7)
Spent 40 minutes looking for the trail head. Was no where to be found.
So much fun! Completed the hike in about an hour. Allow more time if you want to swim longer. Requires some rock climbing but there are plenty of ropes to aid the climb (+ a wooden ladder, too!). You have to swim to see the last waterfall (very tall and worth it), and the only way to get back is to jump into the pool! Like I said, so much fun!
Not on Oahu like it said, must be Maui.
Most amazing hike I have ever done. Beautiful scenery with gorgeous reward at the end when you get to the big waterfall. Cool ladders to climb up, a little challenging but not bad. Favorite part of the island.
