Very family oriented, wide, easy, well graded trail. Only thing to watch out for are the junctions to the pillboxes and when its raining, it can get slippery. Some rope sections which could come handy when muddy and slippery.

Easy enough. Nice views, wish there was a stronger breeze.

Pretty easy hike. Did it with our 8 year old son. Wear good shoes, there might be some pretty good mud on the hill straight up. There are a few ropes to help but some have been broken. Pillbox was nice and so were the views. It was a pretty nice afternoon hike. This hike is also listed under the name of Kammiland Trail.

Jan 2017. I entered the trail through an unmarked entrance next to the school, across from the basketball court off the parking lot, next to an orange sign. Moderately steep ascent at the beginning, then easy hiking in the pine forest - very pretty. There's a vista point overlooking the coast on the way up. At the turnaround point (as marked here), there were a bunch of additional trails in different directions; in fact I wouldn't have realized it was the turnaround point without my phone/GPS, and if I had more time the other trails would have been nice to explore! Saw a number of people on the initial/final stretches, but beyond that I was alone.

The beginning of the trail up to the bunkers is a large elevation change. It could be quite muddy. This may be tough on young kids. But the view from the bunkers is outstanding and well worth the hike.

We had a difficult time following the loop trail behind the bunkers. Even with the established track and GPS signal it was tough staying on the path. We decided to abort and retrace our steps back to the bunkers.

Very slick but the views are great. There's a second pillbox if you keep going!
