Very family oriented, wide, easy, well graded trail. Only thing to watch out for are the junctions to the pillboxes and when its raining, it can get slippery. Some rope sections which could come handy when muddy and slippery.
Pretty quick lightly trafficked hike, with quite the climb at the beginning. View from the pillbox is beautiful though. Dog friendly. I would definitely do it again!
This was a great quick hike up to a beautiful view. I wouldn't recommend doing it after heavy rain because it gets slippery. Once you're at the top there are more connecting trails if you wanted to continue, or you can just trek back down. At the top there are 2 different look out points (pillboxes).
Great piece of history, There is a steep jaunt toward the beginning, there are ropes to hold when its wet and slippery, but up on the ridge its flat the rest of the the time. There are actually two pillboxes, so look for them both, and a few hidden underground rooms not to far off, but they are flooded out.
Easy enough. Nice views, wish there was a stronger breeze.
Pretty easy hike. Did it with our 8 year old son. Wear good shoes, there might be some pretty good mud on the hill straight up. There are a few ropes to help but some have been broken. Pillbox was nice and so were the views. It was a pretty nice afternoon hike. This hike is also listed under the name of Kammiland Trail.
