West Point Dam is a 0.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Lagrange, Georgia that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from October until March.
Completed the 1.5 mile Lakeside trail today. The hike was the easiest rating of the area. The trail was easy to follow and seemed to be well used. There were benches and rest areas available with great views of West Point Lake (A great place to have a picnic). This trail does not loop so we hiked both ways totaling 3 miles.
We also completed the .6 mile Island Trail that was the most difficult rating. his trail contains a lot of up and down hill hiking. Today was kinda wet so the mud made some areas slippery. This trail connects to the Turkey Run trail to make a loop.
