Great trail! The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is because of all the other amazing trails Georgia has to offer. This one doesn't even compare to some other ones I hiked when I was there this summer.
I grew up hiking this trail before there was a visitor center or parking lot. We literally parked on the side of the road and headed up it! I couldn't wait to take my children up to sit on the cannons (which are still there, but fenced off.....no longer allowed to sit on them!). It is a moderate hike, but the views from up top are worth it. The history there is so important too. It was a major battlefield/site during the civil war. Great family outing and hike!
only did the lower half. 2 days later I can still feel it
Great views from atop big Kennesaw and the trail makes a good conditioning hike. We go several times a month. There are many possibilities to alter your route when combined with other trails in the park.
Great views but be prepared, this trail is mainly dirt and large rocks. Pick up a trail map from the visitors center as the trail is not well marked. Its heavily travelled but again the views are amazing.
Crowded! But nice elevation and views of the city.
The Kennesaw North trail is fun at the beginning where you climb 1 mile to see Atlanta from 20 miles away at the top of the hill. But after that it gets boring with little else to see. There are some moderate downhill sections where some attention is needed but else the trail is easy. The whole trail is about 5.8 miles.
Good trail. Took 6 and 8 year old kiddos and they had fun and didn't complain too much. Recommended.
Nice trail .. Just usually overcrowded
My wife and child join me on this trail and it's a challenge to some degree with the ascent, but we descend via the paved road that loops down the mountain. Beautiful scenery, lots of history, and if you're fortunate, the wildlife won't be hiding, which is a special treat.
Great hike. Great weather. 3 miles from the overflow lot to the summit and back down, 60 minutes.
Love this trail! Beautiful views and just an all around good work-out.
