Great workout often very crowded
Beautiful hike, beautiful mountain, incredible civil war history. I only gave it 3 stars because there were too many loudmouths on their cell phones.
Did the "red" Kennesaw Mtn Trail (~5.6 mi loop). The highly technical parts are challenging and fun. Great elev change on the mountain portion, obviously. The backside portion (final 2.5 or so) was super easy and kinda boring. I recommend running this loop once, taking your time to stop at the historical markers, cannon emplacements, and the awesome overlooks. Then, run it again w/whatever intensity you want or need. Practice your footing techniques, particularly on the downhills.
Very familiar with this trail. Moderate hiking, and very pretty views. It's popular so you can see a lot of foot traffic. There are a lot of nice nooks here and there that are nice to stop at and take in the environment.
