Dicks Creek Trail is a 4 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Dahlonega, GA that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for walking, nature trips, birding, and fishing and is accessible from March until October.
The description is inaccurate. There is no signs for hiking trails nor did we find any. We drove almost to the end. The road leading in starts off as a paved road. Then it becomes a narrow dirt road. There are about 10-12 campsites. There is limited parking to visit the falls. There are several areas to go into the water. The largest area is by the falls and has a few places to jump off the rocks into the water.
There is a really fun waterfall to swim around in, and it also has a small cliff jump. But it is not nearly this far down Dicks Creek Rd, and doesn't require any hiking to get to. On Google Maps, this waterfall is called Water's Creek Falls. After playing around in the falls, we followed the gravel road farther up into the mountains, but never found this trailhead. We did however wade up Dick's creek, and that was really nice and relaxing. The falls are pretty busy on the weekends, but there was no one farther up the creek. There are also disbursed campsites in this area.
fun place to go small cliff jump waterfall good fishing. there are usually a lot of people being pretty loud and good amount of trashyness but still a fun place to go
Looked at the falls not really a hike and lots of trash around and looks like people use it for a toilet not how i remember it when i was a kid very sad
Primarily fishing and camping, but, Excellent for year round bushwhack. Just be careful of hunters, this is in the heart of Chestatee WMA. Oh yeah, be very mindful of Bears! :)
Great fishing and swimming hole above the falls. Camping all over the place
