Such a great place... Beautiful scenery.. Lots of trails..
Starts out on a gravel trail. It's gets better once you get off of it and into the woods.
Very cool trail by the Chattahoochee
I work right up the road and pass this each day. It is a wonderful place to walk, hike, bike ride and just a relaxing place to enjoy the scenery.
Breathtaking. Seems remote, but safe at the same time. Would never know you are just on the outskirts of a big city like Atlanta.
Great hike to see birds and otters on the river.
This trail was awesome! It was a little crowded on main trail so we took the first off shoot we came to which lead to an awesome winding hike. The awesome part of this trail is that it had several different off shoots. Trails were very well maintained except for several animal poop bags- where pet owners were too lazy to place in designated recepticles. This trail was full of dogs and kids on bikes. I suggest you go early to avoid weekend crowds, or go during the week.
This is a really beautiful hike once you get off of the main trail. On the interior of the trail where no bikes are permitted, it is lush and private. The exterior trail is far too busy for my taste, and I didn't think I was going to like the trail at all when it started out. The interior trails are very well marked, and don't seem to be traveled frequently. Some of the off shoots are fairly over grown, and you can't walk them without having plant life consume you from the knees down. It is a bit swampy, so watch for snakes and poison flora. There's much to see here in the way of plant life and it's a truly beautiful trail. Relatively easy as well.
Really enjoyed the mountain bike trail. I'd definitely do it again!
I've run every trail in the system out here. It's great because it's convenient to metro Atlanta, and you can get some good elevation change to build up your legs for ultras! Moderately technical in places, but nothing over the top. If you love trail running, you'll love it here. Just get off the shale loop as quickly as possible; it stays to busy with dog walkers and strollers (no offense to pet lovers and moms).
3 mile loop plus 6-7 on Cochran shoal/sope creek trails. Some of best trail running in metro Atlanta.
This is a fantastic trail(s). There are many different trails that are for hiking and biking. Some trails are more difficult than others, but, not too hard for a healthy person. Great views of the river and a little swamp with nice animal views.
This trail is great for a quick Mtn bike ride! Love posting up next to the lake in the middle of my ride.
Gets pretty congested on a Saturday or Sunday but still well maintained and fun trails.
Great trail! It is limestone not paved which is better if you are running. U can easily run 8 to 10 miles. There a lot of hidden trails all over. You have to pay to park at the trail head 3 bucks a day. They WILL give you a ticket!
