White trail to Group Camping Site is a 1.2 mile out and back trail located near St Augustine, FL and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, horses, and mountain biking and is accessible from September until May. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.
easy hike The beginning of the hike was somewhat boring. It was typical Florida pine forest. After turning off the White trail and heading to the camping area it turned from Pine forest to Beautiful Oak and Magnolia canopy.
New signs have been put in along hwy. 206 just west of the drawbridge to mark the location of this trail. A 3.8 mile single track/one way mountain bike trail has been cut through the area within the last couple years. To get to the trail head, enter at the eastern end and ride in on the dirt road about 2/10's of a mile. The single track trailhead will be on the right hand side. The trail goes through multiple types of terrain. There's lots of curves, narrow bridge challenges, logs to cross over, mild hills, roots, and a senior section along a bluff which overlooks the estuary. Once your finished riding this, I suggest you then ride the dirt road (trails), as they are very senic with large old oaks creating a curtain head. The trees are full of Spanish Moss making for a very senior ride. Camping is allowed, but only at one of the four designated sites on a first come, first serve basis. This area is free to use and camp at. Remember to bring insect repellent, as there's plenty of a. I give this area 5 Stars, as the single track trail can be very challenging.
Easy trail to do with kids.
