The Paved Trail is excellent. The scenery is the same the whole way out. I prefer trails with some up and downs and this one is great for family and friends to join who don't ride often.

Great paved trail. I rode 47 miles there on my 47th birthday, repeating part of the 32 mile up and back ride. It is flat, well maintained and very popular. There is a nice off-road trail near the north end and a lovely park with a colonial era fort at the other.

This is a wonderful rail trail connecting southern Tallahassee and the quaint town of St. Mark's with stops along the way with parking and facilities. The trailhead, just south of Capitol Circle SE on Woodville Hwy. has good parking and restroom facilities. A gas station is about to open just north of the trailhead if you need to fill up on water or snacks. But the big treat is at the opposite end in St. Mark's where you will find Riverside Restaurant directly on the St. Mark's River as well as a barbecue place and a pub. St. Mark's is reinventing itself into an eco-tourism destination and is doing a great job. In the fall they have a Stone-Crab Festival. The trail has recently been(2011 completion expected) upgraded to 12' width to accomodate more visitors. This is an exceptional trail and well worth the drive to either St. Mark's or the Tallahassee trailhead to start your ride. The trail does continue north into Tallahassee but the trailhead south of Capitol Circle is the best place to start unless you want to start at the St. Mark's end.
