Shaded hike to gator-infested Lake Jesup Park at the trailhead and hike down the main road (cypress trail). There are information signs along the way although there are indications of disrepair after the 2004 hurricanes. There is a spring located along west side of the trail about a mile from the trailhead. The boardwalk at the end of the hike is closed right now even though it would be fairly easy to get it back up to standards. This boardwalk is needed to get out to Lake Jessup.

Good shaded hike! A lot of the boardwalks are closed and we weren't able to get out to Lake Jesup and other areas.

I do love this trail. It is shady and the vegetation is lush. It is a shame that some of the bridges and boardwalks have not been repaired.
I have seen butterflies, large owls and alligators. Parts of the trail do flood.

Fun! The trail was blocked by water about 20 minutes in but it was a good little hike.

Not too bad, kids were disappointed that we didn't get to see any gators :(

Nice trail. Can be rather busy during weekends. 1.25 miles from the start until you reach the lake.
