Koreahan State Historic Site Nature Trail is a 1.5 mile lightly trafficked point-to-point trail located near Estero, Florida. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking and walking.
Very charming historical site. The natural trail is not that long, but there is plenty of wildlife. It is a great option for young children and the elderly. You can also kayak. The charm is really the old structures and welcome center with a documentary screening. Best time to go is early spring.
Great little spot! The historic portion was neat, although not the main reason we went. The nature trail is short but you can see lots of little critters (we saw tons of butterflies, a snake, geckos, and a tortoise). We actually saw a lot of the staff and they were very helpful and informative. Cost is $5 for a car. Next time we'll rent a canoe ($5/hr, $25/day) - the Estero was calm and beautifully wooded in the area. Will definitely go back.
This is an awesome nature trail with some history at the end, depending where you start. Good morning or afternoon light walk/hike.
