A 17.5 mile hike through the Ocala National Forest along the Florida Trail. Beautiful scenery, a must hike. Traversing the longleaf pine habitats of Salt Springs Island and Kerr Island with bowls of the Big Scrub in between, this 17.5 mile section of the Florida Trail provides a place for backpackers to stretch their legs and enjoy a parade of fall colors and spring wildflowers.

There was a lot of great views all along this route. My wife, brother, and his wife all hiked it together with one night of camping. Bring alot of water! In the summer it is hot and you run out quickly. There is a little rest stop area about halfway through where we ate, like a gas station with a little restaurant. Had a beer or too, then hiked toward camp spot. Great trip, great hike, was a lot of fun.
