Ditch of Doom! - Little Big Econ State Forest is a 10.1 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Oviedo, FL and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, horses, and mountain biking and is accessible from September until May. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.
A long Hike/Bike including a segment along the Ditch of Doom I explored the area east of the Flagler trail, along the Econ River. Then I traveled along a deep ditch/creek thing that I later learned was called the Ditch of Doom.
I gave this trail only 3 stars because most of the trail was flooded out(August rain) and I wasn't able to ride most of the trails. I can't wait to go back when it dries up.
Ok the beginning of the trail is flat/sandy and windy, I didn't see many climbs and no jumps... I will give a full review next time I go back. FYI this park has 3 entrances one for horse back riding, another for trail walkers and another for bikes. Good luck finding the right one. lol
This trail was really fun and challenging! Perfect for off road biking. Part of the trail was under water so we explored a different route. I loved splashing thru the mud puddles on my bike. I can't wait to go back! We ended up riding about 10 miles
Great trail with lots of tight technical areas. North stretch of Ditch of Doom was flooded.
good trail, little boring for the first mile then gets better as u progress through, seen some good wildlife. the main trail doesnt loop but there r trails that r attached to the main trail, definatly bring lots of water and snacks if ur going to go through at least the main trail
This trail is worth the trip. If you want to complete it in a day I would suggest mountain bike instead of hiking. Also make sure you have the AllTrails app in your phone or at least a print out of the trail map. It's easy to get lost. Most of the intersections are marked but not all of them. I think some of the trails may have been recently made due to some flooding. Be prepared to get wet. Some of the areas near the river are flooded, The link goes to the trail map.
