Nice hike! Small over look at top of mountain with spectacular views!
Nice place for lunch and to take in all the surrounding beauty!
That's what I love about the Appalachian trail you get the best of everything, inclines, descends, woods, and streams etc.

Very wooded trail with hills and some overlooks, especially if you take the Herrick Trail Preserve loop. Most of walks have focused on the sections near the Housatonic River and 10 Mile area. Did the part from NY only once. This section is very well maintained and often guides and helpers are sitting out near Bulls Bridge. One of our favorite sections of the AT.
