Yates Gulch Trail to Yates Reservoir is a 5.3 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Gypsum, Colorado that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from May until November.
Directions from Eagle: Take I-70, 7 miles west of Eagle. Get off at the Gypsum exit. Go south towards the town and then take a right at the Forest Access sign onto the Gypsum Creek Road, FDR 412. Drive about 11 miles and the trail begins on the left hand side of the road. There is only parking enough for two vehicles on the side of the road near the cattle guard. No facilities exist at the trailhead.
