Rim Rock Drive is a 21.6 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near Grand Junction, CO that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for camping, nature trips, birding, and scenic driving and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Thought I would be doing a quick drive-through, ended up staying for 6 hours. Really beautiful, absolutely recommended. Permit was $10 at the gate (and good for a week if you wanted to stay longer). I did the serpent's trail off the road which has some really awesome views as well.
This drive through the Colorado National Monument is a for fee access. Extremely scenic with tremendous hiking opportunities and camping. Many scenic overlooks if your time and health does not allow hiking.

High above Grand Junction sits the Colorado National Monument. The drive along the rim offers great views of Grand Junction and the Colorado River.
