Once your up in the mountains it's a great trip. You get to see the CDT and the San Juan Wilderness and the Weiminuche Wilderness to the West. It's what you think about when you say the word Colorado Goes through Mtn meadows then through Ponderosa pine to bring you out on top above timberline. The first 4 miles are up. You'll gain 2ooo feet in evlevation pretty quick. Once on top you have to worry about your footing in certain places but as long as your careful it shouldn't be a concern.
