Good hike. Great views after mile 3 In the talus field. Then great views of Wilson Peak and Sunshine Mountain. Pay attention to the map because it's easy to get sidetracked if you follow the bike tracks. (I ended up over a mile SW because I didn't prepare)
Trail is well marked. Not out and back which is good. Not much of a grade, also nice. However, clearly caters to mountain biking, views are limited and can get monotonous. Hiking on the slopes not aesthetically pleasing IMO. I would rate it 3 stars if it was only 4-5 miles.
It's a great bike riding trail.
Fun family hike with small children.

This is one of the best stretches of singletrack in the Telluride area. You start at the top of the free gondola, and several excellent climbs and descents take you to the top of the Lynx Lift, the high point of the ride. From there, an amazing descent will take you back through the forest to Mountain Village. There is also an option to leave the resort towards the ghost town of Alta. You then will have over 3000 vertical of descent on rogue singletrack and the Sunshine Trail down to the Illium Road. An easy pedal up the Galloping Goose takes you back to the town of Telluride.
