Relatively new trail system near Golden. A good trail if you want something short and relatively easy. This is a relatively new trail system just built north of downtown Golden. It is fairly short and nontechnical but does offer a climb and some singletrack. It's a good ride if you are short on time and want something easy.
love this trail.
fun easy trails!
awesome hike, the trail to the top gets your heart pumping then once on top the Mesa opens up into many options with something for everyone's skill level. Beautiful views of Golden and Denver, lots of flora and fauna to enhance your day......2 thumbs up I try to do this trail every morning!
The first hike up is such a pain, but once you're at the top of the Mesa, it's a simple and relaxed walk/jog. Was with a large group so this was perfect for everyone's needed pace.
Accidentally did the 10 mile loop in the middle of summer and it was extremely exposed. There are much better hikes in the area that are more enjoyable.
I hate, hate this place. There are 2 options: straight up a rocky road, up to a decent area at the top, OR around a 10 mile loop. Both have no vegitation or any shade and the views are decent at best. Mountain bikers are everywhere. A simle 20+ minute drive west into the mountains reveals trails that are much more scenic, secluded, wooded, and diverse.
Be warned: this trail is steep right out of the gate. However, once you get to the top, you'll be rewarded with views of Golden and you'll feel like you're on another planet. There are plenty of random trails around so have fun and be safe- there are many loose rocks and my wife saw a rattlesnake right in the middle of the main path.
Did this hike in early spring when there was still alot of snow on the ground. The hike up/down is a good workout. Once you get to the top (mesa) it is pretty flat. Great views and quite a few trails to explore. It is a very exposed trail (no shade) so I won't do this one in summer and will be going back in spring or fall when it is not quite so hot.
Nice hike but very exposed. Only about 2 spots for shade along the entire north table loop, so I would avoid this in very hot weather.
