Directions from Broadway: Traveling north passed the University turn left on to Mapleton Avenue. The trailhead lies approximately seven blocks west of Broadway.
Very rocky with the trail hard to find at some points. Would recommend taking a left to start the loop.
Classic Boulder hike = very crowded. But it's a classic for a reason! It's steep & definitely gets your heart rate up but it's totally worth it. You get great views of Boulder & neighboring towns from the top. I'd just avoid weekday nights & weekends, in general, if you don't want to be around too many other people.
I really liked this trail. Easy access, challenging at times and then a low key winding path on the way back to the car lot.
First hike I ever did in CO and absolutely love it. This gets the legs working right from the start, mellows out for a stretch, then some big step up sections. The home stretch isn't too bad. Great hike to catch a sunset depending on the season and sun placement. Highly recommend this hike as a precursor for more challenging hikes in the area (I.e bear peak or royal arch)
First ever trail hike. I'm from the east coast so there were definitely a few times I had to stop for a minute to catch my breath. Amazing views and was the enjoyment I was looking for.
I would say it's moderate to difficult.
Trail is easier to follow and better marked going up the West side, lots of step climbing but not too bad.
It was pretty steep. Definitely rated moderate. Trails not clearly marked on way back
Nice little hike, if in shape and have adjusted to the thin air you will be just fine. Out of town and looking for a starter hike this will be a great starter with some challenges for sure.
Very busy. Views are ok. Good for a quick hike. Definitely on the high moderate side.
Took 1:15 to reach summit with three kids ages 8 through 13 from the steep west side. Another hour to make it back on the east side. Great exercise and great views!
beautiful. not the easiest but not the hardest. First time hiker in colorado and took 3 hours.
Great hike and they have picnic tables everywhere!
Awesome hike! Wasn't expecting it to be as tough as it was, but views were great and I would happily do this one over and over again.
