Easy and beautiful. Good mix of pines and open spaces.
I did the castle trail and it was very enjoyable. The open meadows give way to neat, old ruins. The history makes for a good read and there are plenty of animals near by such as wild turkeys, deer, snakes and birds.
This trail is great but it's often so heavily packed that if you're not going on a weekday, it's really just not that much fun. I do recommend it for families and kids though!!
great trail to take visitors coming in to Colorado visit. I would say it should be treated easy with great views.
Great trail! Beautiful everywhere! Deer and rabbits and the fabulous scenery! Only downside was this app crashes right as we were nearing the parking lot so that was a bummer. Otherwise great afternoon. Last time I had checked we had hiked 4.2 miles.
Beautiful trail! Accidentally took the wrong path at the end and added a half mile of downhill and a brutal half mile of uphill, but we doubled back and made it to the top. Gorgeous views. Very easy if you don't make the mistake I did.
Great, kids had a blast, fun trail!
Nice trail, mostly flat,great views
Great trail system. My kids (7 & 9 at the time) enjoyed it. It's a nice piece of history too and has a great view of Red Rocks.
I've been told that it's a good perch to watch a concert.
Nice trail, great views and wildflowers. Too many bikers, gets irritating constantly stepping off the trail.
Took the Castle trail all the way up and Turkey trot on the way down, no bikers allowed on Turkey trot so get some peace there.
Spectacular view of snow capped Mt. Evans and James Peak at the top from the Summer White House. Be aware Falcon Castle can get crowded, got a bunch of young kids arriving there from the easy route, up by car. We did not linger at the castle. There is a nice spot for lunch near the Summer White House.
Beautiful wildflowers popping up- Wax current, 3 leaf Sumac which smell great, Chiming Blue bells, Chickweed, Pasque, Oregon Holly berry, Snowball Saxifrage, Milkvetch white and purple etc
