Montville Nature Trail is a 1 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Mosca, Colorado that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
Directions from Visitor Center: About 1/4 mile past the entrance to the Visitor Center, on the right hand side, is the entrance to the Montville Parking Area. If you get to the entrance for the Dune Parking Area, you have gone too far. The trail takes off on the east side of the parking lot.
Easy but interesting. Good for the end of a long day.
Pretty trail in Great Sand Dunes National Park. Amazing views of the dunes from the top lookout spot. Combine this loop trail with Mosca Pass Trail to make more of a journey!
This is a short, easy trail in the woods that connects to the Wellington Ditch and Mosca Pass trails. Lots of flowers in this damp late July. Shade on this trail is a good break from the heat of the dunes.
Easy, probably perfect for families with young children. We walked it to get to Mosca pass, then took the other half to get back to the campsite. Nice change of scenery from the dunes.
