A pleasant walk around Lake Estes offers views of the valley. There are many benches available around the lake to enjoy the panoramic views.
A nice walk to do other than "shopping" on your day off from hiking or after a hike. Views of mountains, visit the marina, check out the dam, go by Wapiti Meadows where elk may spend the night, and possibly, as we did, have elk on the trail.
I wouldn't consider this a 'hike'. Very easy walk and great views of the mountains if you can see past the electrical towers.
Nice, easy paved route around lake.
We hiked all the way around the lake. Had some nice views. Very relaxing. Enjoyed it.
nice for a bike ride around the lake
Some beautiful views and dog friendly, which is t easy to find near Estes with so much of the land being the national park. Some not so good views if you do the full loop, power plant and backside of dam, but still worth it.
Great trail for a leisurely stroll. Enjoyed the great scenery of Lake Estes.
Nice dog walk with flat sidewalk. Access to Lake. Wasn't too busy in March. Just bring sunscreen. :)
Fun bike ride from the lodge (about 1.5 miles west of town) and around the reservoir. One morning we even ate an early breakfast at a nearby restaurant ("McDonald's") as part of the ride. The loop passes the Estes Park City Visitor Center where several helpful, friendly staff spend all day answering questions.
If privacy is your thing when camping, this isn't the campground for you, but it's convenient to the trails and it's surrounded by beautiful pine-filled mountains and has all the amenities you could need--a bathroom, running water, fire pits, picnic tables, hookups, and tent pads.
