The Kruger Rock trail head is accessed in Hermit Park, an open space just outside Estes Park, Colorado. The trail is about 4 miles round trip. Short, but with a few steep stretches and a rock scramble at the end so you don't feel completely lazy. And the views at the top are fantastic. Hike across fields and then up and around a forested mountain to Kruger Rock.

Great challenging hike.... Saw a handful of people definitely wouldn't say this was a crowded trail.

Took many breaks along the way so it was about three hours total round trip. Gorgous at the top. Will be doing this one again for sure.

It was very windy at the top so prepare for that. $6 parking was worth it to me.

Great to do on a Tuesday because there are few people on the trail and you get the views all to yourself!

only thing that was tough was just the relentless uphill switchbacks. This trail is not 3.3 miles RT either, it's about 4.1. Views were great but not as good as they could've been as we went late afternoon in hopes of having the trail to ourselves. Only saw two other groups hiking down and had the rock to ourselves. The little scramble to the top isn't bad. Will probably hike again this winter, then spring, then be done as the fee is off putting.

I would rate it as easy to slightly moderate. Beautiful views of Estes park in several spots along the mostly uphill trail. Nice mix of sunny and shady areas along the trail. Not many hikers on the trail on a Thursday morning. Was nice that there are no mountain bikers. Would do it again if it didn't cost $6 to enter. Nice campground though. The entrance fee only takes credit cards in a self service kiosk.

Great views of Estes from many points on the trail. Trail is well maintained and took an hour and fifteen minutes to the top.

Beautiful trail! Took my son and dog with us and was a perfect hike. Very well maintained and the first third of the trail was lined with gorgeous wild flowers. Had to turn around at halfway point due to severe lightning storm coming in. Halfway was worth it anyway and I will totally be coming back to finish this trail!

Great trail with multiple scenic views and very dog-friendly! Even if you don't make it to the end of the trail, you can still experience some amazing views. On that note, be aware that the last quarter of the trail is almost straight up. We didn't want to push our pooch too hard knowing that we would still have to hike back out so we turned back. Still had s great time and would definitely do it again with more water and snacks!
