This is a perfect, perfect late September hike. It was a crisp temperature and the fall colors were awe inspiring.
Amazing trail, would definitely do it again.
while this wasn't the most exciting hike I've ever done, I give it 5 stars because it was easily accessible and I enjoyed the change in scenery.
if you park a few blocks up Aspen st you don't have to pay for parking.
the trail switches through the woods and peaks over town with great views. then it descends into the woods and ends a couple blocks up from where the trail started (you'll have to walk back to your parked car)
Great trail, very close to town
Perfect loop to get started in Telluride
This is a great trail if you exercise regularly and are familiar with hiking. We really enjoyed it! Views are incredible and worth the hike! Water features and views of telluride from the hike were amazing. Highly recommend!!
Pretty tough climb. Make sure that you are acclimated to the elevation. The air is thin. The trail has spectacular views!
Great hike! Beautiful scenery and views.! Recommend starting on left side. Steep inclines for first third mile, but then easier to finish. Aspen, Fir, valley views, meadows and multiple streams. Has it all. Saw 4-5 other hikers.
We were told it's a locals favorite. Not easy though, so be sure you're in shape and acclimated. Good luck!
Excellent steady up hill and downhill. Two streams for dogs to drink on east side of loop.
I do this all the time as a workout... Ha! Takes 1-2 hours depending on how fast you go. Really simple to get to from town. Great way to see views of the town.
Be prepared for intense incline on the way up if you're not a local. Definitely worth it! Amazing views of the town and all the peaks at the top
Nice and sunny! Did this hike November 24th, 1 week after Telluride has 3' of snow. The trail was packed down in some places and sloppy muddy in some. LOTS of snow on the east side of trail. I suggest hiking it clockwise. Started from Hotel Telluride and ended up at 4 miles. Take water, enjoy the views at the top. Aspen trees are gorgeous
Do it clockwise
This is a nice, close to town trial to help acclimate to the altitude before tackling a higher climb!
To make a great ride you can do a loop. start in town and ride out to Mill Creek Rd. ride up Mill creek to Deep creek from here you can ride to Jud wiebe and that will take you back into town. There are enough trails that you can make it into an epci ride or just do the loop.
