Jean Lunning Trail is a 2.7 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Nederland, CO that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from June until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Hike around Long Lake, above Brainard lake.
Some snow, slush, mud, standing water, good views, very easy trail. Busy small parking lot at weekends.
a solid hike. easy. note that there's already snow on the ground up at Brainard lake.
We were fortunate that someone was leaving when we arrived, as the parking lots were completely full (this was around 2pm on a Friday). Lovely trail around the lake, although there is some confusion about the actual distance. If you complete the loop, it is definitely farther than the 2.7 miles listed on AllTrails. The loop goes well past the lake at the far end. Once you are past the lake, it is a long while before you've circled your way back within view of it. In early September, there were no bugs, which was a nice surprise! Also, be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions (as always at high elevations)! It got cold on us really quick! I would happily do this trail again.
9/5/16 - upper trail of Long Lake. Has some nice vistas and some small streams. Some of the path has wooden planks.
Easy hike, great views!
Great trail for a family hike or out of town'ers who aren't used to altitude . Make it a loop with the Long Lake Trail from the Long Lake trail head to make it ~3 miles. Did it with a 3 year old in about 2 hours. Get there really early or you'll be forced to parked farther away. Lot was full by 6:45 am on a Sunday. $10 entry fee to use Brainard Lake Rec Area. This is now my go to trail for out of state house guests from lower elevations.
Great views of Indian Peaks. Trail had light snow/slush cover.
