Lots of poop!!!!☹️ other than that it's beautiful and lots of sights to see
Great trail. Best in the middle portion. Forested with lots wildlife and wild flowers. Happy I left the trailhead early - rain came early today. 6 hours and finished at 130
Favorite mountain bike trail near Denver. Seven mile ride on dirt road before you get to single track, but well worth the ride. Back side of loop has a great downhill section. Rarely crowded during the week, have not been there during the weekend.
I gave this segment of the CT only 3 stars because of the Waterton Canyon potion of the trail (6.2 miles of hiking on a road), and the lack of awe inspiring views. The trail is beautiful once you get to the single track CT trail 6.2 miles back. Wildflowers were abundant along the entire trail ranging from columbines to Indian paintbrush and everything in between. Heavily forested for most of the trail, the smells and sounds are awesome. The trail was super easy to navigate and in moderate use. No dogs allowed on this segment, but mountain bikers welcome. I came across approximately 20 hikers/backpackers and several bicyclists. 16.8 miles took six hours to complete at a quick steady pace with minimal breaks. Most finish in about eight.
First leg of the Colorado Trail. Great hike but no dogs are allowed in Waterton Canyon so that part is a bummer.
